Planning Meeting to Abolish ICE

Tuesday July 10th 6 PM – 8 PM 2013 E Genesee St, Syracuse

Join us in an open planning meeting for the July 31st day of action to abolish ICE!
In June, Syracuse showed up against family separation. 1,000 community members of Syracuse protested against racist deportations and detention of migrant children and adults.
Migrants are still having their freedoms torn away from them. The separated children are STILL not reunited with their parents. On July 31st, people across the country are taking action to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Join the Syracuse Immigrant and Refugee Defense Network, the Workers Center of CNY, the New York Immigration Coalition, the International Socialist Organization, and other Syracuse social justice groups to organize to abolish ICE and end the deportations.

CAN’T MAKE THE MEETING BUT WANT TO BE INVOLVED? Send us a message with your email address and we’ll add you to a post-meeting message!
DOES YOUR ORGANIZATION WANT TO ENDORSE? Let us know!

The Socialist Case against Borders: Meeting and Discussion

Wednesday July 11th 7 PM at Spark Contemporary Art Space 1005 E Fayette St, Syr

Our country is experiencing an explosion of protest in response to the horrors of refugee family separation. The demand to abolish ICE has risen in prominence, as ICE offices have been protested, blockaded, and shut down by activists in multiple cities.
A popular chant at these rallies has been, “No borders, no nations, stop deportations!” But what would a world with no borders or nations look like? What are we fighting for, when we fight against ICE? Join the Syracuse ISO for a discussion of all these issues, July 11, 7pm at Spark Art Space!

Ice Cream Social – Fundraiser for Children of Gaza!

Thursday July 12th 6 PM – 7:30 PM Pebble Hill Presbyterian Church

The Justice for Palestine Committee will be holding an ice cream social to fundraise for the Women’s Boat to Gaza, as well as the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA)’s projects that support Gazan children.
Israel’s blockade has made Gaza essentially unlivable – 95% of water is undrinkable, access to electricity is restricted to 3-4 hours a day, and delivery of food, supplies, and aid is tightly restricted. MECA’s projects in Gaza benefit children through direct medical, food, and school supplies, financial support, scholarships, and educational programs. The Women’s Boat to Gaza is a Freedom Flotilla which seeks to challenge the blockade and highlight the strength of Palestinian women in the struggle for justice.
One of our members recently returned from a year-long stay in Ramallah (West Bank). Stop by to enjoy some ice cream and chat!
This event is free and open to the public. Donations are encouraged!
