Weekly Action Alerts for week of January 7

CNY Solidarity members and supporters:
Please find below the weekly ACTION ALERTS from Indivisible NY24 and our legislative action teams.

Today (January 7)

One action today

End the Government Shutdown: Call Charles Schumer  (202-224-6542; 315-423-5471), Kirsten Gillibrand (202-224-4451; 315-448-0470) and John Katko ( 315-423-5657 (Syracuse), 315-253-4068 (Auburn), or 202-225-3701 (DC)).

Demand passage of budget bills for all federal departments or continuing resolutions until the end of the fiscal year to end the government shutdown. This would keep the government open without giving in to Trump’s demand for a wall or funding detention of immigrants and additional border agents. Caving in to Trump on this would invite more presidential blackmail destroying Congress’ power over the purse under the Constitution. More information here
