Department of Environmental Conservation has agreed to hold a public hearing on Onondaga County’s application to build a trail on Murphy’s Island. This trail would pass right through an important bald eagle winter roost and through a heavily polluted site that has not been cleaned up. Come tell the DEC that this trail is bad for wildlife and for public health!

The Urban Jobs Taskforce Presents: Urban Jobs NOW

Imagine a construction project so massive that it has the ability to change the trajectory of the lives of you family, and friends by them becoming engaged, aligned and employed with the I-81 viaduct project.
The $2 billion I-81 Viaduct project will bring 1,000s of good-paying construction jobs to our city. If it’s business as usual, those construction jobs will be union jobs.
According to the Racial Equity Impact Statement (REIS) of Urban Jobs Task Force and Legal Services of CNY, the unionized construction trade industry in Onondaga County consists mostly of white males residing outside of the city.
This means that if the project started today, a majority of our city residents would not be able to get a job on the project. That needs to change now! Come learn about who UJTF is and what we can do together to ensure that our community is not left out of the jobs on I-81.
