If you live in J-D and you disagree, please join us in a strategy/informational session to let our Board that “Jamesville-Dewittians” are in favor of the I-81 CommUNITY Grid. 6-730pm at First Unitarian Universalist, 109 Waring Rd. More details here.

Wednesday (Jan 30)

Support the NY Health Act

From our friends at the Campaign for NY Health: This week we are looking for every one’s help in generating calls to the State Assembly and Senate. Here is a toolkit with a sample email and social media suggestions and graphics. The NY Health Act should be reintroduced any day now by the respective Chairs of the Health Committee in both the Assembly and Senate. The bill has to pass the Assembly again in order for the Senate to take up the bill. Our current goal is to get as many original cosponsors as possible before the bill is officially re-introduced in the 2019 session, so please call and ask others to call!

Also, for any CNY Solidarity members that would like to play a bigger role in campaign strategy, there is a regional planning meeting being held in Rochester on Saturday, February 9th. There will be carpooling from Syracuse. It will be a workshop type gathering of volunteers from throughout the state to share ideas, updates, etc. This would be an especially good chance for any of you with ties to local organizations that have members very impacted by health care system dysfunction to find out how to have your members join the fight for this important reform. Please email Margaret Bombard (bombs4822@gmail.com) if interested and she will get you all the details. She’s looking for a headcount by 1/31/19.

One last note:  Save those midterm election lawn signs!  We are hoping to have an event soon to “up cycle” them into “Pass the NY Health Act”  signs. More details to come.
