Defend Climate Law – Bus Trip To Albany Wednesday, March 25, 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM Bus from Destiny USA in Syracuse On Wednesday, March 25, we’re mobilizing in Albany to urge lawmakers to defend our Climate Law! Governor Hochul is threatening to weaken New York’s landmark Climate Law through the state budget due April 1. We’ll be in Albany during final negotiations, urging our lawmakers to stand firm: NO CLIMATE LAW ROLLBACKS in the BUDGET! We can’t afford any more delays—New Yorkers need lower utility bills and real climate solutions. A more affordable, healthier, and climate-resilient New York is within reach, but only if we end our reliance on costly, polluting fossil fuels. Reserve a seat on a bus leaving near you.

Movie screening: “Lyd” Wednesday, March 25, 06:00 PM – 07:30 PM Syracuse Peace Council, 2013 E Genesee St, Syracuse The story of Lyd is the story of Palestine. This sci-fi documentary follows the rise and fall of Lyd – a 5,000-year-old metropolis that was once a bustling Palestinian town until it was conquered when the State of Israel was established in 1948. The film is an exploration of what it once was, and what it is now, in the context of the continuing conflicts and the war in Gaza. Lyd’s excavation of one community’s complex history offers us not only lessons but possible futures. As the film unfolds, a chorus of characters creates a tapestry of the Palestinian experience of this city and the trauma left by the massacre and expulsion, while vivid animations envision an alternate reality where the same characters live free from the trauma of the past and the violence of the present. Event is free and open to the public.
