Demand Transparency on the Aquarium Now! What we have feared since this project was proposed in 2021 is coming true! Taxpayers will be on the hook for the construction and operation of McMahon’s vanity project. Taxpayers have now contributed over $100 million dollars to the aquarium. Enough! We demand taxpayers be protected from further costs! In December 2024 the county legislature said no more taxpayer funds. Yet the County Executive continues to use us as his personal piggybank. Tell him to raise the rest! No more from taxpayers!
Contact the County Executive and tell him not 1 more dollar from taxpayers and ask how he plans to protect taxpayers from his aquarium draining our tax dollars year after year, and to release the names of current donors!

STAMP Out Kathy Hochul’s Monster Data Center NYS Governor Kathy Hochul’s Empire State Development Corporation awarded $56 million in taxpayer dollars to finance an onsite electrical substation at the long-failing WNY Science and Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP) mega-industrial site. And now a monster data center complex – backed by Private Equity firm Apollo Global Management and slated to be used by an undisclosed Big Tech company worth $100 billion – is asking for $1.46 billion in tax abatements to use almost all of the substation’s available power for generative AI. The data center wants to use 500 MW of electricity – equivalent to what 410,000 residential homes use in a year. Tell Kathy Hochul “NO” to the $1.46 billion, “NO” to SEQR Environmental Approval, and “NO” to this monstrous plan that threats our quality of life, our environmental well-being, and our cost of living.

Tell Congress to Say No to Warrantless AI Mass Surveillance The War on Terror-era legislation that authorized decades of civil liberties-eroding mass surveillance is set to expire on April 19. Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) was passed in 2008 as a counterterrorism measure, but has a long history of abuse from the federal government, especially when it comes to surveillance. Let your Members of Congress know you expect them to reject reauthorization unless it includes significant reforms to protect our civil liberties against this authoritarian regime. Economic Power – Don’t Use Round Up! Where we choose to spend our money and time is one of our greatest collective strengths. Every purchase we make, and every time we just show up to help, we demonstrate our values and progressive ideals for human rights, labor rights, social justice, and environmental protection.
Since it hit the store shelves in 1974, “Round Up” and other toxic herbicides have sold the US consumer with the advertising that we need a yard like a green blemish-free carpet. We don’t. The herbicide industry has also sold us on the framing that “weeds” are bad. They’re not. “Weeds” are plants. Yes, some weeds can be annoyingly invasive, cause allergies, or give us itchy rashes. Yet, some “weeds” are edible or medicinal. In numerous lawsuits, “Round Up” has been linked to causing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and was ordered to pay settlements of over $14 billion dollars. “Round Up” has also been linked to increasing the bee population morality rate (Journal of Ecology). Alternative product: Vinegar, clove and citrus oil sprays, boiling water (3 Natural Homemade Weed Killers That Actually Work)… or just let the dandelions grow!
