Publication Guidelines for Committees

The following guidelines were produced by the CNY Solidarity Communications Committee in order to ensure consistency and transparency in public communications such as flyers, social media graphics or other printed documents intended for a public audience.

Plans for publications should originate in particular CNYSC committees and should be discussed with the relevant committee chair.

Once the committee chair has pre-approved the item and a distribution plan, it should be placed in this Google Drive folder:

CNY Solidarity/Flyers, Posters and Handouts/Pending Approval
Items in that folder will be approved by a member of the Comms Committee, who will perform a final review and move the item to this folder.

CNY Solidarity/Flyers, Posters and Handouts/Approved
Items in the Approved folder may be used as needed, and will not require re-approval unless altered.

All public documents should prominently feature:

• CNY Solidarity Logo
• Indivisible Onondaga County Logo, if applicable
• Our website: www.cnysolidarity.org

Distribution Plan
When printing documents for distribution, there should be a clear plan for how the document will be distributed and a corresponding estimate of how many copies will be needed for that distribution plan. This is to avoid overspending scarce resources on copies that are not effectively distributed to the public.

If space allows, documents should include our “Who we are” summary statement: “CNY Solidarity Coalition is a grassroots organization working towards achieving economic, social, racial and environmental justice.”

Avoid listing another organization on our materials unless we have their permission to use their name on that material.
