CNY Solidarity members and supporters:
CNY Solidarity Coalition Coordinating Committee nominations are open until June 6, with elections on June 20. Please nominate yourself or a fellow member to this important committee. Contact Deborah Rose ( for more information.

Please find below the weekly ACTION ALERTS from Indivisible NY24 and our legislative action teams.

Today (May 14)

Call John Katko on DACA:

Some Republicans are attempting to use a “discharge” petition to force a vote on DACA. DACA protects children of illegal immigrants who grew up here from deportation. A bill allowing these “dreamers” to stay will likely pass if it comes to a public vote (cruelty carries political risks). Ask Katko to sign-on to the discharge petition and ask for a follow-up indicating whether he has signed on. Katko’s numbers are 315-423-5657 (Syracuse), 315-253-4068 (Auburn), or 202-225-3701 (DC).

Tuesday (May 15)

Fight Cruel Separation of Parents from Children

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has separated 700 children from their parents at the border. Please contact DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and your Congressional representatives using the online form here to tell them that this inhumane conduct is unamerican and must cease. You can also call John Katko (numbers above) about this as well.

Protest Sinclair Broadcasting’s Promotion of the NRA Agenda

5-5:45 p.m., in front of Sinclair’s office at 1030 James Street in Syracuse. Sinclair’s channels 3 & 4 broadcast a “school safety town hall,” which focused on the NRA agenda of making schools harder targets and mental health, without discussion of banning assault weapons or background checks.
