Today (May 14)
Call John Katko on DACA:
Some Republicans are attempting to use a “discharge” petition to force a vote on DACA. DACA protects children of illegal immigrants who grew up here from deportation. A bill allowing these “dreamers” to stay will likely pass if it comes to a public vote (cruelty carries political risks). Ask Katko to sign-on to the discharge petition and ask for a follow-up indicating whether he has signed on. Katko’s numbers are 315-423-5657 (Syracuse), 315-253-4068 (Auburn), or 202-225-3701 (DC).
Tuesday (May 15)
Fight Cruel Separation of Parents from Children
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has separated 700 children from their parents at the border. Please contact DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and your Congressional representatives using the online form here to tell them that this inhumane conduct is unamerican and must cease. You can also call John Katko (numbers above) about this as well.
