CNY Solidarity members and supporters:
This is Indivisible’s National Week of Action and our local action will be a Virtual Text-Banking Party on Sunday, August 2. This is just the beginning of our Indivisible Project Payback effortsto flip the U.S. Senate blue! Sign up for the text-bank training on either July 28 or July 30.
In which Red State will we party: the Sunshine State, the Longhorn State, or …? Make plans to join us on Sunday.
In case you missed it in yesterday’s Post-Standard, David Driesen wrote a commentary on the ways that Trump and his administration have weakened constitutional norms and laws that threaten our democracy and lead toward authoritarianism. And, how Katko has enabled this behavior! Read the commentary here.

Demand the Withdrawal of Federal Secret Police from American Cities
President Trump has put together a secret federal police force made up of members of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other bodies, who are snatching peaceful protestors from Portland Oregon streets in unmarked vehicles. Federal irregulars have also appeared in Washington and Seattle. Demand that John Katko (202) 225-4042, (315) 423-5604; Charles Schumer (315) 423-5471; and Kirsten Gillibrand (315) 448-0740 put a stop to this. They should conduct hearings, pass a bill ordering the irregulars withdrawal and authorizing citizens to sue every individual involved for damages not limited by immunity of any kind, and cut off funding for ICE.

You’re receiving this email because you’re subscribed to the CNY Solidarity Coalition announcements list. This is a low-volume list (typically no more than 4-6 messages per week), which now has more than 2,000 subscribers. We also maintain higher-volume listservs as venues for discussion of general Coalition-wide issues (discussion-cnysolidarity), key state and local action team organizing priorities (stateleg-cnysolidarity), and key Indivisible NY24 organizing priorities (IndivisibleNY24). The latter list includes more frequent action alerts and information about local electoral campaigns supported by Indivisible. If you’d like to be added to any of these lists, please reply to me and let me know which ones.
