CNY Solidarity members and supporters:Please find below the weekly ACTION ALERTS from Indivisible NY24 and our legislative action teams.
From now through Nov. 3, we’ll be focusing our weekly alerts largely on opportunities for engaging in direct voter contact, both locally and nationally.
First off, everyone should make sure that you have a plan to vote yourself. (And then make sure your friends and family do too.) As with the primary election in June, you can now apply for an absentee ballot under temporary illness if you wish to avoid voting in person because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Just visit your county election board’s website (Onondaga County’s is here), download an absentee ballot application, and select “temporary illness” as your reason for voting absentee. (This option is authorized whether or not you yourself are ill.) Once you’ve filled out the application, you can hand deliver, mail, or email it to your county election board.
If you applied for an absentee ballot for the Primary Election, it’s the same process here, but you do need to do it again in order to receive a ballot for the General Election. Ballots will be mailed out starting mid-September. Absentee ballot application forms and additional info are available here.
As in the June primary, you also have the option to vote early in person. In Onondaga County, there will be sites available in Camillus, Clay, Dewitt, Lafayette, and Syracuse, beginning on Oct. 24. More details here.

Find a Direct Voter Contact Opportunity On Your Own
Sometime this week, please reach out to one of your favorite local or national candidate’s campaigns. (Ours include Dana Balter and Rachel May locally, as well as U.S. Senate candidates in states targeted by Indivisible’s Payback Project.) Tell them you want to help with direct voter contact efforts between now and Nov. 3, and ask how to get started.

You’re receiving this email because you’re subscribed to the CNY Solidarity Coalition announcements list. This is a low-volume list (typically no more than 4-6 messages per week), which now has more than 2,000 subscribers. We also maintain higher-volume listservs as venues for discussion of general Coalition-wide issues (discussion-cnysolidarity), key state and local action team organizing priorities (stateleg-cnysolidarity), and key Indivisible NY24 organizing priorities (IndivisibleNY24). The latter list includes more frequent action alerts and information about local electoral campaigns supported by Indivisible. If you’d like to be added to any of these lists, please reply to me and let me know which ones.
