A core intention of CNY Solidarity Coalition is to bring together and support organizations already out there helping directly affected communities in the Central New York area.
Our Allied Organizations are particularly important to the Central New York community, and many people in our Coalition are also involved with them. If you’re looking for ways to become more involved, these organizations are a great place to start:
East Adams Housing Authority
An epicenter of Black American culture and connection, the Historic 15th Ward faced decades of disruption. But the spirit of the neighborhood never faded.
The East Adams Neighborhood Transformation Plan, launched in 2015, is a long-term investment in reconnecting the Historic 15th Ward. Beginning the project with months of community workshops, resident surveys, and planning meetings open to all, the initial vision and goals were established to steer the development in addressing the most critical needs of the residents.
In 2024, the mission received a major boost — a $50 million CHOICE Neighborhoods Initiative grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This grant has served as a catalyst for major revitalization efforts in the community, the first of which is the redevelopment of the distressed Pioneer Homes and McKinney Manor into a mixed-use neighborhood, prioritizing affordable housing and essential community amenities and services.

We hold them accountable through boycott, divestment, and peaceful protest on 6/13 from 10-12pm at the branch at 3524 West Genesee St, in Fairmount. As always, when we assemble publicly to exercise our First Amendment rights, we do so assertively and peacefully. Ignore counterprotestors. Keep your cool, deescalate, and take care for each other along the way.
Please stay on public sidewalks. If you need assistance please reach out to a marshal in the yellow vests.

Fundraiser for Blake Gendebien – NY21 Congressional District Wednesday, June 17, 06:00 PM – 08:00 PM 647 Fellows Ave, Syracuse Because the stakes are so high this year, included in this event is support for a candidate outside of our district. Blake Gendebien is a Democrat candidate for the House of Representatives in NYS District 21, the seat previously held by Elise Stefanik. When the hosts learned that one of the Republican candidates gifted a 7' gold-painted bronze statue of Trump to Trump, that now sits on a Florida golf course, it reinforced the need to recognize the value in looking beyond our district. Some of us are committed to fundraising for Blake to get a young, solid person into the seat not only for New Yorkers but also for the country. All contributions, no matter the amount, are appreciated. Blake will join us by Zoom for a few minutes to express appreciation and brief us on his background. Please text 315-263-7774 or email Farrell.kim@gmail.com if you will be able to attend. Tasty food (including vegan and vegetarian tare) and drinks will be served. More important, you will see how kinship and camaraderie among neighbors uniting tor action towards the common goal of a safe and just society can really work!
