Syracuse, NY
With early voting set to begin on June 13, Indivisible Onondaga County (IOC) announces its endorsements of the following candidates:
- Maurice “Mo” Brown for State Assembly District 129
- Tammy Honeywell for Onondaga County Legislature District 8
- Jo Bennett for Onondaga County Legislature District 15
Mo, Tammy, and Jo are running as the Affordability Slate because they believe health care, education, and housing are human rights that all CNY community members should be able to afford. In our June 7 candidate forum and at other venues, these candidates have all pledged to improve our bus system, expand free childcare options, and provide safe housing for all.
IOC steering committee member Judy Jerome says, “They have demonstrated a clear understanding that local and state government must do more to protect tenants, strengthen public services, and make democracy work for ordinary people.”
IOC is endorsing Mo, Tammy, and Jo because they have been in the trenches with us. All three of them have attended our meetings, shown up at rallies, and organized across their diverse community networks to defend CNY from the autocratic abuses of the Trump administration in Washington, DC.
Steering committee member Tom Keck says, “We’re endorsing Mo, Tammy, and Jo because we know that they will listen, and we know that they will fight.”
IOC is a grassroots community organization, affiliated with the national Indivisible movement, that formed in November 2016 to resist the Trump agenda.
