It’s time to Tax the Rich

In the beginning of the year, we were able to make some important progress, passing the Reproductive Health Act, updating New York’s antiquated voting laws, passing The DREAM Act and more. But watching this year’s budget process was still so frustrating. We have Democratic majority of the Assembly, Senate and Governorship for the first time since 2010 yet we still couldn’t fully fund our schools?

Why?

Because Albany refuses to Tax the Rich. We understand that some of these important issues in the Progressive Agenda require funding in order to happen. But I guess that wasn’t clear enough to the Legislature of where we expected that funding to come from.

So we have updated our Progressive New York State Agenda for our representatives to be clear about what we want. Please share with your reps, especially with Governor Cuomo, who has too much control over the New York State budget.
