 Complete Census Form here: https://2020census.gov/en.html

All registered Democrats in Onondaga County should have received an Application for Absentee Ballot for the June 23 primary election. If you have not, you can request one or download one from the election board website. You need to complete the application and return it by mail in order to receive a ballot. All registered voters are eligible to vote absentee in the June 23 primary election. Just select “temporary illness” as the reason you’re unable to vote in person (this is authorized due to COVID-19, even if you’re not sick yourself), and then follow the instructions. If you’re from another county, check your county board of elections website or call the board

EVENTS/ACTIONS

Fair Maps for Onondaga County Petition drive –

This is it! On June 2, legislation will go to the County Legislative Session, and our representatives need to know that there is broad public support for independent redistricting in Onondaga County.

PLEASE Sign the petition: This is not a normal petition to elected representatives– it is directed specifically at Onondaga County legislators who need to know that the people support an independent non-partisan redistricting process.

North Side Learning Center– An important resource for the refugee and immigrant community ALL the time, is now doubling efforts to reach out and support the community.

The link is a good representation of what we have been been doing recently. www.launchgood.com/NSLC2020

While our mission is primarily family literacy and empowerment, we also serve the needs of the community in real time.  For example, as you can see in the video shot on Saturday, April 25, ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-AXB5BJMbo&t=12s) we quickly pivoted to establish a major food distribution program that is now in its sixth week of operation as people lost jobs and often have no transportation or means to get food for their families.  We have been providing rice, pasta, flour, sugar, oil, beans, potatoes, onions, apples, bananas, oranges, tomatoes and more in two-week supply boxes for families in need. We have provided over 63,000 meals and counting.

From our ally Dr. Sunny Aslam, a strong advocate for health care for all:
I stopped by the Rescue Missionyesterday to see patients. The director of operations was out in the street with me tracking patients down. She told me her budget has been slashed 60% due to COVID.And of course more people are coming to stay. Broke my heart.

Would you be willing to make a donation to support the RM? Thank you!
