Reject The Deal: Make Three Calls! Yesterday, Governor Hochul floated a third proposal to rollback the climate law. It’s just as disastrous as the first two. Senate & Assembly leadership seem to think advocates are willing to accept this new proposal. THEY MUST REJECT IT. Today, we’re calling the Governor, Assembly Speaker Heastie, and Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins to tell them NO DEAL! Make three calls today to save the climate law: 1. Governor Hochul (HO-cull) – (518) 474-8390 – press 1 to leave voicemail. “Hi, I’m ______ and I’m calling to tell Governor HO-cull not to GUT our climate law! We already have the solutions we need for a smooth, affordable transition to clean energy. Implementing the climate law as written is our best chance to protect New Yorkers from fossil fuel prices that are skyrocketing because of wars, extreme weather disasters, and pipeline buildouts. My zip code is _______. Thanks for taking my message!”
2. Speaker Heastie (HAY-stee): 518-455-3791 3. Majority Leader Stewart Cousins: 518-455-2585 “Hi, I’m ________ and I’m calling to urge ________ to stand strong against Governor Hochul’s proposed rollbacks to the climate law. All 3 of Hochul’s proposals are harmful, dangerous and completely unacceptable! You must reject them. Now more than ever, we need clean and renewable energy to protect New Yorkers from volatile fossil fuel prices and the worst impacts of climate change. Thanks for taking my message!” Provide your zip code if asked.

A core intention of CNY Solidarity Coalition is to bring together and support organizations already out there helping directly affected communities in the Central New York area. Each week we’ll spotlight one of the over 100 organizations in our Directory; there’s a LOT going on!
The Central New York Area Labor Federation is the area federation representing over 100,000 members of 200 local unions in eleven central New York counties: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Madison, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, Tioga, and Tompkins. The mission of the Central New York Area Labor Federation is to improve the lives of working families—to bring economic justice to the workplace and social justice to our state and the nation. To accomplish this mission, we work to:
Build a broad movement of New York workers by helping workers join and form unions.
Support New York workers as they bargain with employers to improve their living conditions and workplaces, as well as their communities, state and nation.
Strengthen the voice of New York working families at all levels of government and in a changing global economy.
The Central New York Area Labor Federation is a key part of the nation’s largest and strongest labor federation—the AFL-CIO, which unites 10.5 million working women and men of every race and ethnicity and from every walk of life.
