12 or 16 Years Term Limits For County Executive & Comptroller? There are two proposals in front of the county legislature to apply term limits to these two roles that currently have no term limits. Last year voters passed 12 year (3 terms) term limits to county legislators by over 70%! Now the question is: Should the county executive and county comptroller have a 3 term limit (12 years) or 4 term limit (16 years)? Both of these proposals would go before the voters in November for final say and both proposals wouldn’t start until 2030 due to the change in moving local elections to even years. Join Neighbors For A Better Micron Neighbors For A Better Micron is an association of residents who are Micron’s close neighbors. They filed a lawsuit in January 2026 because, in the words of its president, “our local and state governments have yet to address a core question: Has the company done enough to guarantee us that the economic benefits of its “mega-fab” will outweigh a range of potential negative impacts? Becoming a member of this group means supporting their association’s general mission of encouraging Micron to be a good neighbor. It does not mean you’re part of any legal actions they take, and regardless of whether you choose to join as a member, you will not be personally liable for the lawsuit. There are many other ways to help accomplish our mission unrelated to the lawsuit, such as helping organize events, attending meetings, or conducting educational outreach.
