As usual, our second hour will be for Committee Breakouts. If this will be your first time attending one of our meetings, or you’d like to find out how you can become more involved, plan on visiting our Outreach Committee; they’ll help you find your “home”.

A core intention of CNY Solidarity Coalition is to bring together and support organizations already out there helping directly affected communities in the Central New York area.
Our Allied Organizations are particularly important to the Central New York community, and many people in our Coalition are also involved with them. If you’re looking for ways to become more involved, these organizations are a great place to start:
ACR Health
ACR Health is a not-for-profit, community-based organization providing a range of support services to individuals with chronic diseases, including HIV/AIDS, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, asthma, substance use disorders, and serious mental illnesses, with the goal of positive health outcomes.
ACR Health provides a wide variety of targeted prevention and sexual health services to individuals, from youth through adulthood, as well as to community groups and organizations, with the goal of informed and responsible decision making.

A Day of Orature – Community Celebration Saturday, July 18, 11:00 AM – 07:30 PM Clinton Square, 161 Genesee St, Syracuse A free, full-day outdoor festival celebrating humanity’s oldest and most enduring tradition of communication. Named in honor of the late Professor Mĩcere Gĩthae Mũgo — poet, author, playwright, and former Chair of African American Studies at Syracuse University — the event will fill the public square with live performance, music, and the voices of this region’s young people. At the heart of the day is the Youth Orature Showcase and Competition — an open, adjudicated performance competition inviting students from elementary through high school across the Syracuse metropolitan area and greater Central New York to submit performances in one or more of five Orature categories: Spoken Word Poetry, Oral Storytelling, Song-Based Narrative, Proverb & Wisdom Traditions, and Call-and-Response. New York Immigration Coalition CNY Roundtable Tuesday, July 21, 12:00 PM – 01:00 PM La Casita Cultural Center, 109 Otisco St., Syracuse New York Immigration Coalition is preparing statewide campaigns and priorities for the next State Budget and Legislative year. Environmental Protection Public Hearing: Water, Wastewater, and Our Environment in Onondaga County Tuesday, July 21 at 5:30 pm Central Library, 447 S Salina St, Syracuse On Tuesday, July 21, the County Legislature’s Environmental Protection committee will hold a public hearing on water, wastewater, and our environment. With an over $500 million investment going into the Oak Orchard municipal wastewater facility and the county building a $1 billion dollar industrial wastewater facility for Micron. And a new water line from OCWA. Investment is happening and infrastructure issues continue to arise, the latest being water main breaks and sink holes.
Attend this hearing to share your ideas, thoughts and concerns with the Onondaga County Legislature’s Environmental Protection committee.

Witness to Injustice Program Saturday, July 25, 09:30 AM – 12:30 PM Betts Branch Library, 4862 South Salina St, Syracuse Witness to Injustice is a unique three-hour interactive group educational experience. It uses an experiential, participatory model to share the disturbing history of what Indigenous Peoples have experienced through colonization with a focus on the experience of the Onondaga Nation and other Haudenosaunee Peoples. The program seeks to foster truth, understanding and respect between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in the part of the world now known as the United States; especially in the territory stewarded by people of the Onondaga Nation and other Haudenosaunee peoples.
