Salina Melts ICE Campaign – canvassing volunteers needed! Due to serious safety concerns, CNY Solidarity does not endorse or encourage protests directly outside the Mattydale ICE facility. Instead, we recommend supporting the multifaceted efforts of the Salina Melts ICE Campaign to have the Town of Salina create meaningful oversight over the Facility! Details are here. Stop ICE in Syracuse – canvassing drive As you may know, there was an ICE abduction in the Westcott Neighborhood on August 20th. This is not the only incident in the Westcott area, and it is one of many in Syracuse and Central New York since Trump took office – and one of many especially in the last few weeks. It is TIME we do something to STOP ICE in our city. Please can you HELP US inform our neighbors in the Westcott Neighborhood about what happened AND ask them to demand action from our local elected officials AND the Syracuse Police Department? Use a Privacy-focused browser, such as Brave.
Brave is a free and open-source web browser which was first released in 2016. It is marketed as a privacy-focused web browser and includes features such as built-in advertisement blocking, protections against browser fingerprinting and a private browsing mode that integrates the Tor anonymity network. Independent tests have generally supported some of Brave’s privacy claims. In tests conducted by the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s Cover Your Tracks project, Brave was one of the few browsers to receive a “strong protection” rating and was found to include randomized fingerprinting protections.

New York Fights Data Centers Tour Now through Sunday, August 30 See Registration link for locations and times New York State Senator Kristen Gonzalez, sponsor of the Responsible Data Center Development Act, and Food & Water Watch will be embarking on the New York Fights AI Data Centers statewide tour from August 22 to August 30. The Senator will visit over a dozen sites with active or proposed data centers across New York State to hear the concerns from impacted communities and advocate for Governor Hochul to sign the Senator’s bill, which codifies requirements for public participation and transparency, renewable energy use, and labor standards. The legislation also creates separate water and energy rate classes for data centers in an effort to protect ratepayers from increased costs. Registration and Location Information
