We will be joined by Onondaga County Election Commissioner Dustin Czarny to learn about how NYS keeps our elections secure and what we can do to help. RSVP. Salina Melts ICE requests support at Town Board Meeting Salina Melts ICE is calling on CNY allies to show up for the Salina Town Board meeting on Monday, September 14 to support their call for health & safety inspections at the Mattydale ICE facility. Only Salina residents will be allowed to speak, but a packed room speaks volumes! The meeting will be held at the Salina Town Hall, 201 School Rd, Liverpool from 6:30-8:30 pm. More Information

2026 Indigenous Peoples Day Festival seeks support Indigenous Peoples Day Festival at the Onondaga Nation Fieldhouse will be on Saturday, October 10. The event organizing team is led by Onondaga community members and includes Neighbors of the Onondaga Nation (NOON)/Syracuse Peace Council and We of Italian and Syracuse Heritage in CNY (WISH CNY) along with support from other community organizations. To sustain this growing collaboration, we warmly invite support through financial sponsorship, in-kind contributions, assistance with publicity, help recruiting volunteers and other tasks. Organizations are asked to contribute as you are able. We’re requesting responses by September 11, but welcome them much sooner. It’s easiest for us if you fill out this simple online form to respond.

Stop Toxic Garbage Water From Polluting New York’s Rivers, Lakes, Drinking Water Supplies, and Environment New York River Watch’s statewide report found that between 2019 and 2023, more than half a billion gallons (532,300,000) of landfill leachate were sent each year from New York and out-of-state landfills to municipal sewage treatment plants. These facilities are designed to treat human sewage—not the complex mixture of chemicals found in landfill leachate. After more than three years of waiting for long-promised regulations to address this, DEC released a proposal on July 1, 2026 that still allows these toxic contaminants to be released into our waters. Help Safeguard Our Students against Club America The 2026-27 school year has started. Club America, created by TurningPointUSA founder Charlie Kirk, will be seeking to establish and expand its extracurricular club chapters in our area high schools. Even if a school had a chapter last year (as did FM, Baldwinsville, Cicero-North Syracuse, Fulton, Mexico and Central Square), a new school year requires a new application to establish a club chapter.
