A core intention of CNY Solidarity Coalition is to bring together and support organizations already out there helping directly affected communities in the Central New York area. Each week we’ll spotlight one of the over 100 organizations in our Directory; there’s a LOT going on!
A Tiny Home For Good
Prior to founding A Tiny Home for Good, Andrew Lunetta worked as a shelter aid at The Oxford Street Inn (a now defunct men’s shelter) for nearly a decade. During that time, he learned that the permanent housing that was affordable to these men typically meant having a roommate, or maybe a small room with a shared bathroom down the hall–in buildings rife with code violations, vermin infestations, and a concentration of individuals who were suffering from mental health and addiction issues. It became crystal clear why many of them returned to the shelter after a matter of weeks. Andrew figured there must be a better way.
Through extensive conversation with those facing homelessness and those in the homeless service field, an answer became apparent: an affordable and dignified home, with a landlord invested in the tenants’ success, provided the best chance for many to permanently move from the shelter system. And with that, A Tiny Home for Good was born.
We build quality homes on vacant lots or renovate derelict properties in the city of Syracuse. Each unit is rented to an individual or family who has faced homelessness.

Rally for NY4ALL & Dignity Not Detention Tuesday, April 21, 09:30 AM – 03:30 PM 3rd Floor, Million Dollar Staircase, NYS Capitol, Albany, NY Together we will advocate for the passage of the NY4All Act (S2235/A3506) and the Dignity Not Detention Act (S316/A4181). Together these bills provide the protections that families, workers, and communities need, by ending our state’s entanglement with ICE both on the detention and collusion front. We are over halfway done with the legislative session and time is running out to meet this moment. If Albany is serious about protecting New Yorkers from ICE, then it must stop the State from helping ICE arrest people, and stop profiting from locking them up. RSVP by 11:59pm, 4/17/2026

The Good Mind – film about the Onondaga Nation Wednesday, April 29, 06:30 PM – 08:30 PM Manlius Cinema, 135 E Seneca St, Manlius The Onondaga Nation in central New York State is the Central Fire of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy). This sovereign indigenous government, which follows the Great Law of Peace, inspired American democracy. The Onondagas advocate for the environment and share prophecies about climate change, while engaged in a battle with the state over ancestral lands stolen in defiance of a treaty with George Washington.
The Good Mind is the Onondaga and Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy) philosophy and way of life. When the Peacemaker brought his message 1,000 years ago to the shores of sacred Onondaga Lake, he united warring peoples with a system of governance based on using the Good Mind to make decisions not only for the present, but for the next seven generations.
