CNY Solidarity & Indivisible Onondaga County
|
We are incredibly honored to receive the Harriet Tubman Freedom Fund Award from Syracuse Onondaga County NAACP. This year’s theme of “Freedom in Our Time – Defending Democracy and Securing Voter Rights” is a core commitment of CNY Solidarity. As an all-volunteer grassroots organization, more than 100 Central New Yorkers join us at our monthly meetings to learn, help and take action. We continue to work towards economic, social, racial and environmental justice, and a world beyond war and militarism through our volunteers and the many local organizations that CNY Solidarity works with.
Join us at the 48th Annual Syracuse Onondaga County NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner on May 21st. Tickets are available through May 14th
Watch this preview from WSYR’s “Bridge Street”, which included CNY Solidarity Coalition’s Peter McCarthy.

Upcoming Meeting Schedule: May 31 – NYCLU/Families for Lead Freedom Presentation. June 7 – Primary Candidate forum

A core intention of CNY Solidarity Coalition is to bring together and support organizations already out there helping directly affected communities in the Central New York area.
Our Allied Organizations are particularly important to the Central New York community, and many people in our Coalition are also involved with them. If you’re looking for ways to become more involved, these organizations are a great place to start:
Clayny.news
clayny.news is an independent, AI-assisted civic journalism project covering the Town of Clay, New York (Onondaga County). We publish news articles, investigative features, and meeting coverage drawn entirely from public records, official meeting transcripts, and government documents.
Local journalism is disappearing. Clay, like thousands of communities across America, lacks dedicated reporters covering town government. Board meetings go unattended. Budget decisions, zoning fights, and policy debates — including the massive Micron semiconductor project transforming the region — happen with minimal public scrutiny.
clayny.news exists to fill that gap. We use AI to process what no single reporter could: every minute of every public meeting, cross-referenced against municipal code, budget documents, and historical records. The result is comprehensive, sourced coverage that links every claim to a timestamp in the public record.
